Blog Settings

As of July 2020, we stopped supporting the creation of multiple blogs. However, we will continue to support any accounts that previously created multiple blogs.

Accessing Blog Settings

On the blog index page with the blog that settings you'd like to adjust selected in the main dropdown to the right of "Manage Articles" click the blue settings text which is directly below the "Manage Articles" heading.

This will open a sidebar modal with your blog settings which we'll walk through next.

Understanding Blog Settings

Unstack name: this is an internal-only name used for organization and will not be seen public

Title: this is a public-facing SEO title which will appear in the browser tab

Category URL Structure: this is not editable currently

Article URL Structure: this is how your article's URL will be setup

URL: this is the URL where this blog will be located

Description: this is the description for the blog that will be used for SEO

Hide from search engines: if toggled on we'll hide this blog from Google and other search engines

Categories

Categories are the new organization system for blogs. Allowing you to organize each blog into a category and each category you creating having a dynamic listing page where all blogs within that category may be found.

Accessing Category Settings

On the blog index page with the blog that settings you'd like to adjust selected in the main dropdown to the right of "Manage Articles" click the blue categories text which is directly below the "Manage Articles" heading.

This will open the sidebar modal with settings for your categories which we'll walk through next.

Category Settings

Category: this is the dropdown where you'll select the category you'd like to edit if you currently don't have any categories refer to creating a new one.

Name: the is the public-facing name that'll be used when referencing the category on it's listing page or at the meta area of an article which is tagged with this category

Example of the name being displayed in the meta area of an article.

Title: this is the public-facing title used for the browser tab on the listing page

Category URL Path: this is the slug for where the listing page for this category can be found

Category Description: this is the description for this category which will be used on the listing page's meta-tag for SEO

Adding a New Category

On the blog index page with the blog that settings you'd like to adjust selected in the main dropdown to the right of "Manage Articles" click the blue categories text which is directly below the "Manage Articles" heading.

In the sidebar select the "Create new category" action link.

On the blog index page with the blog that settings you'd like to adjust selected in the main dropdown to the right of "Manage Articles" click the blue settings text which is directly below the "Manage Articles" heading.

This will bring you to a page for adjusting your blog layout.

Sidebar

The sidebar option provides a space for a call-to-action which will follow the user as they scroll through the article.

Footer Custom Code

The ability to add custom code globally to all blogs (within that blog, if applicable) provides options for adding social share, DISQUS for comments, and other third-party blogging tools.

Article Settings

Scheduling Articles

Click the vertical three dots to the far right of the article you would like to schedule.

Within the modal that opens, scroll to "Authored date" and set this to a future date. We will not set the article to public until 8 AM EST on that date.

Click "Save and schedule" at the bottom of the settings modal to set the article for schedule publication on the selected authored date.

Setting a Featured Image

Click the vertical three dots to the far right of the article you would like to set a featured image.

Within the modal that opens, scroll to "Featured image" and click the input area to set/change the featured image for that article.

Author Settings

Author settings can be found within the settings page under team, within this page, select the person you'd like to edit. This will open their setting drawer where (if the profile is yours or you are an admin) you can adjust their profile information and set their dynamic author page live.
